Read on for some easy beauty and makeup tips to jump-start your beauty
routine just in time for spring.
Go for a rosy glow
Winter skin may be lackluster (so many days spent hibernating) so for spring,
give your complexion a beauty boost. Runways were awash with models sporting
natural-looking skin with a gorgeous rosy glow. Take a cue from the catwalk and
give your complexion a similar treatment. Go light with foundation (try tinted
moisturizer instead) and concealer only where you need it. Then use a cream
blush or cheek tint (which can be easily layered) to create a natural flush.
Rock statement lips
Give your go-to lipstick color a break by rocking statement lips instead.
This spring is all about brighter pouts that get noticed. We saw
lollipop-inspired hues at Jen Kao’s spring show – think coral, beachy brights
with a high gloss finish. If brighter hues aren’t your thing, opt instead for
deep crimson lips (spotted at Donna Karan), which make an equally stylish,
rut-busting statement.
Opt for eye-catching nail polish
One of the easiest ways to have more fun with your look is to paint your
nails in an eye-catching hue or interesting pattern. Tribal prints, inverted
French manicures, sparkles and bold nail polish colors were just a few of the
runway-inspired spring trends to try. We suggest yellow (a big spring color
trend), classic red, girly pink or something metallic as a way to spice up your
spring style without trying too hard.
Make your eyes pop
We saw intriguing eye color on some spring runways, including peepers that
popped at Phillip Lim. Models stunned in a smart swipe of bold eye color from
the inner corners all the way out for an almost cat-like effect.
If you’re used to neutral or earthy tones, this spring, shake things up with
a blue, green or plum. We were also inspired by the blue smoky eyes we saw at
Rodarte, a fun twist on the traditional look perfect for brightening up your eye
makeup this spring.
